Qigong

Qigong is an ancient holistic art form, from China, that integrates flow, physical postures, breathing techniques, visualization, mindfulness, and focused intention.

The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe. The second word, Gong, pronounced gung, means practice, art form, or accomplishment, or skill which is meant to be cultivated through steady practice.

Qigong is usually described as a practice designed to cultivate energy, increase vitality, improve general wellbeing, and support healing.

As a practice that combines gentle and slow movement with focused mindfulness, Qigong is also a dynamically flowing meditation that is great for quieting and centering the mind and the emotions, as well as harmonizing the relationship between the nervous and endocrine systems.

More profoundly, Qigong is a holistic activity that prepares, strengthens and purifies both physical and mental aspects of self in order for them to be reconnected and reintegrated with Source, as energy and consciousness. As such Qigong is fundamentally a spiritual practical.
